China Shipping, Evergreen swap Asia/Europe slots
China Shipping Container Lines and Evergreen Marine Corp. have signed a slot charter agreement to swap 150 TEUs on two of their weekly services in the Asia/Europe trade.
Effective mid-April, China Shipping will take slots on Evergreen’s “WAE” service, with Evergreen taking space on China Shipping’s “AEX 2” loop.
The North America/Asia/Indian Subcontinent/Europe “WAE” service uses 12 ships of about 5,500 TEUs. The full port rotation is Tacoma, Wash.; Vancouver, B.C.; Tokyo; Osaka; Kaohsiung; Hong Kong; Yantian; Tanjung Pelepas; Colombo; Rotterdam; Hamburg; Thamesport; Zeebrugge; Port Said, Egypt; Colombo; Tanjung Pelepas; Kaohsiung; Yantian; Hong Kong; Osaka; Tokyo; and back to Tacoma. Lloyd Triestino and CMA CGM take space on the Asia/Europe section.
The Asia/Mediterranean/North Europe “AEX 2” service deploys nine ships averaging 5,388 TEUs and calls Dalian, Xingang, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Yantian, Hong Kong, Chiwan, Nansha, Port Kelang, Genoa, Valencia, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Bremerhaven, Hamburg, Felixstowe, Malta, Port Kelang and back to Dalian. Norasia Container Lines and Zim Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. takes space on the service.
