China summit to be held November
China Ocean Shipping Co. said Monday it has helped organize the World Shipping (China) Summit 2005, to be held Nov. 1 in Shanghai.
“The conference will discuss the trend of the policies of China’s micro-economic control and focus on the possible effects of economic development on the international maritime industry,” COSCO said.
Confirmed speakers at the conference include: Wei Jiafu, president and chief executive officer of the COSCO Group; Knud Pontoppidan, executive vice president at A.P.Moller-Maersk; Koji Miyahara, NYK Line’s president, Yasuhide Sakinaga, chairman of “K” Line; and C.C. Tung, chairman and CEO of Orient Overseas (International) Ltd.
