CII seeks Connie Award nominations

The Containerization & Intermodal Institute is seeking nominations for the annual Connie Awards.

Named for the container, the Connie Award has been presented every year since 1972 to those who have made outstanding contributions to the containerization and intermodal industry, including those involved with rail, shipping, ports, importers and exporters, 3PLs, technology, government officials and the media.

“This is a very special year for CII, marking the 50th anniversary of our association, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting the business of international trade and the intermodal container transportation community,” said Allen Clifford, CII president.

This year’s events will be held Sept. 30 in Long Beach, Calif., and Dec. 6 in Newark, N.J. All nominations must be received by April 23. To nominate a person or company, contact CII Executive Director Barbara Yeninas at execdir@containerization.org, (732) 817-9131 or visit here.

   Past recipients are listed here.

In addition to the awards, CII will present scholarships to deserving students studying logistics or transportation. To celebrate CII’s 50th anniversary, CII is offering special discounts on The Box That Changed The World, which details containerization's first 50 years.
