CII to hold export seminar in Chicago

   Michael Masserman, executive director for export policy, promotion and strategy for the U.S. Commerce Department’s International Trade Administration, will deliver the keynote speech at a half-day seminar sponsored by the Containerization & Intermodal Institute in Chicago June 25.
   The seminiar, “Doubling U.S. Exports – A Reality Check”, will discuss President Obama’s initiative to double U.S. exports and include government officials, major shippers, 3PLs, carriers, ports and others in the supply chain.
   Other speakers include Jeff Graber, senior international trade specialist, U.S. Commercial Service in Chicago; Paul Bingham, economics practice leader for CDM Smith; Terry Bunch, director of logistics and customer service at Rayonier; Jim Newsome, president and chief exeutive officer of the South Carolina State Ports Authority; Chris Lytle, executive director at the Port of Long Beach; Greg Tuthill, senior vice president for NYK Line; Ken Sine, director of ocean services with C.H. Robinson Worldwide; and Ed Elkins, director of international intermodal marketing at Norfolk Southern.
   Tickets are $95 each, which includes the evening cocktail buffet. The event, to be held at the Marriott Chicago O’Hare, runs for 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. with a networking event to follow.
