Clark resigns as Grindrod CEO

   Ivan Clark has resigned as chief executive officer of Durban, South Africa-based shipping and logistics company Grindrod Ltd.

   “Mr. Clark had been with the group for almost 30 years and had reached retirement age of 63 and following seven years of success at the helm of Grindrod, Mr. Clark felt that it would be in the group’s interests that a new CEO be appointed,” Grindrod said in a statement.

   Upon his retirement Jan. 1, Clark will become the non-executive deputy chairman of the group.

   Alan Olivier, executive director and managing director of Grindrod’s shipowning arm Unicorn Shipping, will take on the role of CEO designate with immediate effect while continuing his current role, eventually succeeding Clark Jan. 1.
