CLM to fund popular ôState of Logisticsö reports
The Council of Logistics Management announced that it will sponsor the 2004 State of Logistics Report, produced for the past 14 years by Robert Delaney and Rosalyn Wilson.
The report is widely relied on by logistics and transportation professionals, as well as economists, to track logistics costs and their impact on the broader economy. Prior to CLM’s announcement, it was uncertain whether there would be a 15th issue of the report because ProLogis, a large owner and operator of distribution facilities, and freight payment services provider Cass Information Systems, pulled their sponsorship. Delaney’s job as vice president of Cass ended at the end of 2003, as did a consulting relationship with ProLogis.
The State of Logistics Report will be published, as usual, in June.
Rosalyn Wilson is also developing a new Quarterly Logistics Cost Index, to be introduced in September, according to Delaney’s Web site.
