CMA CGM changes U.S. export demurrage terms
CMA CGM is changing its demurrage terms for United States global exports, effective Aug. 10.
Dry containers including special equipment will now have seven calendar days free time, while temperature-controlled containers will have two working days free time.
CMA CGM said the changes are necessary due to some port terminals changing their free time conditions and actual demurrage rates.
After expiry of free time, the following charges will apply per dry container:
* Day one until day five, $60.
* Day six-10, $120.
* Day 11 and later, $300.
The following charges will apply to special equipment (open tops, flat racks and tanktainers) after expiry of free time:
* Day one-five, $100.
* Day six-10, $200.
* Day 11 and later, $400.
These charges will apply to temperature controlled containers after expiry of free time:
* Day one-three, $350.
* Day four and later, $450.
