CMA CGM, MAERSK, MARFRET, NORDANA IN JOINT CARIBBEAN SERVICE
CMA CGM, Maersk Sealand, Marfret and Nordana Line will commence a joint weekly service between the Mediterranean and the Caribbean next January.
The service, scheduled to be launched on about Jan. 1, will employ six geared containerships of 1,300-TEU capacity.
It will have a rotation of Algeciras, Leghorn, Fos, Sete, Barcelona, Valencia, Algeciras, Fort-de-France (Martinique), Pointe-a-Pitre (Guadeloupe), San Juan (Puerto Rico), Rio Haina (Dominican Republic), Manzanillo (Panama), Cartagena (Colombia), Puerto Cabello and La Guaira (Venezuela), Basse Terre (Guadeloupe), Fort-de-France and back to Algeciras.
Eastbound, the service will call at Basse Terre and Fort-de-France with a fixed-day weekly frequency to carry bananas from the French Antilles to Spain, Italy and southern France, CMA CGM said.
