CMA CGM/Med Shipping Pacific behemoths to call L.A., Vancouver
The five 8,000-TEU containerships ordered by CMA CGM and Mediterranean Shipping Co. for their future transpacific vessel-sharing agreement will call at Los Angeles, Vancouver (Canada), Shanghai, Xiamen, Yantian, Hong Kong, Busan and Los Angeles, CMA CGM said.
The two carriers aim to start the service in the second half of next year. The 8,000-TEU ships are expected to be the largest to operate in the transpacific trade at that time.
CMA CGM said that the vessel-sharing agreement has been signed for a period of 10 years.
