CMA CGM, P&O Nedlloyd to add Miami to U.S. East Coast/Brazil loop
French carrier CMA CGM said Monday that direct calls at Miami will be added to its joint weekly U.S. East Coast/Brazil American Bridge Express (ABEX) service with P&O Nedlloyd.
The 2,474-TEU vessel “CMA CGM Brasilia” will make the first call at Miami Sept. 12. At the same time, the carriers are improving from fortnightly to weekly the frequency of calls at Salvador and dropping calls at Pecem.
The ABEX service started in June and uses five ships averaging 2,300 TEUs, with P&O Nedlloyd contributing three ships and CMA CGM providing two. The service will have a revised port rotation of Miami, Charleston, Norfolk, New York, Paranagua, Sao Francisco do Sul, Santos, Sepetiba, Salvador, Suape, and back to Miami.
MOL takes space on the ABEX service.
