CN orders another 100 new boxcars
Canadian National Railway Co. has placed an order for another 100 boxcars to be built at its Transcona Shops in Winnipeg, starting in January.
Each car will be 58-feet long, 17-feet high and 10-feet-8 inches wide. Fully loaded, each car weighs 286,000 pounds. Construction of the cars will be finished by April, CN officials said.
The new order follows an earlier order for 100 boxcars from the Transcona Shops. This order is scheduled for completion before the end of the year.
