CN, RAILWAY OPERATING UNIONS REACH TENTATIVE AGREEMENT

Canadian National railway said Tuesday it had reached a tentative agreement with the Canadian Council of Railway Operating Unions.

The CCROU negotiates on behalf of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and the United Transportation Union, which together represent about 4,800 CN employees in Canada.

The unions are recommending ratification of a three-year agreement.    Details will not be released until the agreement is ratified.

CN has secured agreements recently with the Canadian Auto Workers, the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the Canadian National Railway Police Association.

CN remains in active bargaining with the Rail Canada Traffic Controllers.
