CN SIGNS PACT WITH ELECTRICAL WORKERS

Canadian National has signed a three-year labor contract with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, covering about 650 IBEW members.

The new agreement replaces the one that expired Dec. 31, 2000, and provides for wage increases, improved benefits and increased productivity, CN said.

IBEW members install and maintain CN’s signals and communications systems.

CN has also renewed agreements with the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees and the Canadian National Railways Police Association. Last week, CN signed a tentative agreement with the Canadian Auto Workers Union.
