CN signs tentative labor agreement with BLET
Canadian National Railway Co. said Tuesday it has signed a tentative labor agreement with the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) that will preserve the hourly wage structure for 400 locomotive engineers working on CN’s former Illinois Central properties in the United States.
Details of the new agreement, scheduled to be effective Aug. 1, are being withheld pending ratification.
CN’s former Illinois Central network extends from Chicago to New Orleans and from Chicago to Omaha and Sioux City.
Cleveland-based BLET is a division of the Rail Conference of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
