Coast Guard conducts security drill in Galveston
The U.S. Coast Guard’s Maritime Safety and Security Team will conduct a security drill at Texas A&M Pier on Pelican Island in Galveston, Texas today.
“Each scenario will simulate various degrees of maritime threats that ports along the Texas coast could experience,” the agency said in a statement. “Response to the scenarios will vary from verbal confrontation to armed resistance and the firing of small arms using blanks.”
