Coast Guard secures grounded “Seabulk Pride”

The U.S. Coast Guard said the oil tanker “Seabulk Pride” safely arrived in Kachemak Bay, Alaska in the early evening of Feb. 3.

“The vessel is anchored and inspection work continues with a team of divers,” the Coast Guard said in a statement on Saturday.

On Feb. 2, the “Seabulk Pride” ran aground in the Alaskan port of Nikiski after breaking free from a refinery loading dock operated by Kenai Pipeline/Tesoro. No significant damage to the vessel or injuries were reported during the incident.

Vessel traffic in Cook Inlet over the weekend was considered on a ship-by-ship basis, the Coast Guard said.
