COAST GUARD SEEKS CHEMICAL TRANSPORT ADVISORS
The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking new members for its Chemical Transportation Advisory Committee.
The committee provides advice and makes recommendations to the Coast Guard on issues involving safe transportation and handling of hazardous bulk materials on U.S.-flag vessels in the country’s ports and waterways. Meetings are generally held once a year at Coast Guard headquarters in Washington.
The committee’s feedback also helps the Coast Guard to prepare for its hazardous materials transport meetings with the International Maritime Organization.
The Coast Guard is taking applications to join the committee through Sept. 1. The agency plans to fill 10 positions, which expire in December.
