Coast Guard suspends electronic notification of arrival to Customs
The U.S. Coast Guard said it’s suspending the notification of arrival requirement to electronically submit cargo manifest (Customs Form 1302) information to Customs and Border Protection, effective May 22.
The Coast Guard originally published this requirement on Feb. 28, and planned to implement it by July 1.
“The date is suspended pending further Customs and Border Protection regulatory action under recent legislation, including the Trade Act of 2002, which should eliminate the need for this requirement in Coast Guard regulations,” the Coast Guard said. “In that event, the Coast Guard would remove the suspended provisions from its regulation.”
