Collins continues as Senate homeland security chair
Members of the U.S. Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee re-elected Susan Collins, R-Maine, as chairman for the 109th session of Congress.
Priorities for her term include improving the Department of Homeland Security and passing legislation to modernize the U.S. Postal Service, she said.
The Government Affairs Committee was renamed at the end of the last session to include more permanent homeland security oversight responsibilities.
