COLUMBUS LINE/HAPAG-LLOYD TO OFFER JOINT SERVICE CONTRACTS
Columbus Line and Hapag-Lloyd have filed an agreement with the Federal
Maritime Commission to enter into joint service contracts with shippers.
The contracts would be global.
The agreement will allow the carriers to interchange, purchase, pool,
lease, sub-lease or otherwise cooperate in connection with containers,
chassis, and other equipment.
The carriers would also be allowed to enter into contracts with
non-ocean carriers or groups of non-ocean carriers, such as railroads,
trucking lines and airlines.
