COMMERCE APPOINTS NEW EXPORT ADMINISTRATION CHIEF COUNSEL
The U.S. Commerce Department has appointed Karen Day to chief counsel for Export Administration, to serve as chief legal advisor to Commerce’s Bureau of Export Administration.
Day was senior legislative assistant to Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif. She was responsible for legal and policy analysis of international trade, export controls, technology, Internet use, telecommunications and intellectual property.
BXA administers and enforces U.S. export control policies, antiboycott laws and industry compliance with the Chemical Weapons Convention.
