CON-WAY CENTRAL EXPRESS TO OPEN TWO SERVICE CENTERS

      Con-Way Central Express, a regional less-than-truckload commercial freight carrier, is opening two new service facilities in a month in Chicago and Springfield, Mo.

   The new 84-door site in Springfield will move 1.5 million pounds of inbound and outbound freight per day, and is scheduled to open May 4. The'90-door Chicago facility, which opened Monday, has 46 more doors than the previous Chicago facility, with an additional 17,000 square feet of dock space.

   Headquartered in Ann Arbor, Mich., CCX has 8,100 employees, operates 247 service centers, and has a fleet of more than 7,800 tractors and trailers covering the United States and Canada.
