CON-WAY CUTS FUEL SURCHARGE
Con-Way Transportation Services Inc. said its fuel surcharge will go to zero, effective Dec. 24, for shipments moving on Con-Way Western Express, Con-Way Central Express, Con-Way Southern Express and Con-Way Canada Express.
The zero surcharge is contingent on the average cost of diesel fuel staying below $1.15 per gallon.
Con-Way said it bases its surcharge on the weekly average price of diesel fuel, published by the U.S. Department of Energy. At the beginning of the week starting Dec. 17, the weekly figure was $1.143, Con-Way said.
The company also said that, as of Jan. 1, it will issue a new fuel surcharge translation table that will be in line with current competitive levels. The new translation table that converts the price per gallon to the percentage level of the surcharge is posted on their Web site at: http://www.con-way.com.
Con-Way Transportation Services Inc. is a $2.1 billion transportation and services company, providing time-definite and day-definite freight delivery services and logistics solutions.
