Con-Way provides electronic contact for Mexico logistics centers

   Con-way Freight, a subsidiary of Con-way Inc., on Friday said shippers in Mexico can now electronically contact any one of its six Con-way Mexico logistics centers to request a shipment pickup.

   'We've offered electronic shipment pickup request in the U.S. and Canada since 1999, and with our expansion into Mexico last year this change is simply an extension of that capability,' said David S. McClimon, president of Con-way Freight, in a statement.

   According to company officials, Mexican shippers can also utilize the Web site to receive customer specific online intra-Mexico and international rate quotes, track single or multiple shipments, calculate intra-Mexico transit times and create online bills of lading and view proof of delivery documents.

   U.S. shippers can also use the Mexico pages to move freight from Mexican origins to destinations within Mexico.
