CONRAD INDUSTRIES APPOINTS MYERS CEO

   Conrad Industries Inc. has appointed Kenneth G. “Jerry” Myers Jr. as president and chief executive officer, effective August 27.

   Myers has spent the past 21 years with Avondale Industries, serving in various senior management positions. Most recently, he served as vice president in charge of managing Avondale’s largest shipbuilding program. While at Avondale, Myers has also served as chief information officer and vice president-business review.

   Conrad Industries also reported net income of $976,000 for the quarter ended June 30, the first quarter of its fiscal year. The income marks a 69.4-percent increase over the year-earlier period.

   Conrad, founded in 1948, specializes in the construction, conversion and repair of marine vessels for commercial and government customers.
