Continental Airlines suffers $363 million loss
Houston-based Continental Airlines recorded a net loss of $363 million for 2004, compared to a net income of $38 million in 2003.
The company also reported a fourth-quarter loss of $206 million, compared to a $47 million profit in the same period 2003.
Continental reported an 11.9 percent increase in cargo ton miles for 2004 to 1 billion, from 917 million in 2003.
“Even though we closed 2004 with a significant loss, Continental took many steps last year that are helping to position us for a stronger future,” said chairman and chief executive officer Larry Kellner.
