CONTSHIP ADDS AUSTRALIA/NEW ZEALAND/ASIA LINKS
Contship Containerlines has entered into three separate slot-charter agreements with other carriers that will enable it to provide additional services from Australia and New Zealand to Asia.
Part of the CP Ships group, Contship said that it is now offering Australasian shippers three new loops: from Australia/New Zealand to India, from Australia/New Zealand to Southeast Asia, and from Australia/New Zealand to East Asia and China.
Contship did not name the regional carriers on whose vessels it will take space.
The services will connect the Australian ports of Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Fremantle, as well as Auckland, Tauranga, Wellington, Nelson and Timaru in New Zealand.
The Australia/China and Australia/India trades are growing, and India is now one of Australia’s top 10 trading partners, Contship said.
Contship already provides a service from Australia/New Zealand to Southeast Asia on the northbound leg of its Australia/New Zealand/Europe
service.
