Coors brewery to reduce freight costs
Coors Brewing Co. said it will spend up to $190 million to add a brewery to its existing beer packaging facility in Elkton, Va. by early 2007.
The investment, which includes a new rail spur to the plant located in the Shenandoah Valley, is designed to save the Golden, Colo.-based brewer $25 million in shipping costs and other efficiencies by locating brewing capacity closer to East Coast markets and distributors.
