CORRECTION: Mitsui & Co. subsidiary works with Savi Networks
A NewsWire item Wednesday should have referred to Mitsui & Co. Ltd. of Japan as a large diversified trading and services company. Mitsui USA, the largest overseas subsidiary of Mitsui & Co., is a facilitator of shipping and logistics services for import, export, and offshore trade.
Mitsui USA worked with Savi Networks to establish the SaviTrak network of radio frequency identification (RFID) tags for containers coming to the United States. At present, the network is operating on containerships operated by three carriers: K-Line, Wan Hai Lines Ltd., and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines.
