COSCO, Hanjin to start India/Iran feeder
COSCO Container Lines and Hanjin Shipping will start in July a joint weekly feeder service covering the Arabian Sea.
The Ceylon-India Express will deploy two 800-TEU vessels, one each from COSCO and Hanjin, and will call at Bandar Abbas, Karachi, Nhava Sheva and Colombo.
The Iranian port of Bandar Abbas will be dropped from the service during the June-September monsoon season, during which time the carriers will split the slot capacity by half.
Hanjin Shipping said it is considering sharing slot capacity on the CIX service with its subsidiary, Senator Lines, and inviting other carriers as a form of lease.
