COSCO, YANGMING AND “K” LINE ANNOUNCE DETAILS OF NEW SERVICES

   Alliance members China Ocean Shipping Co., Yangmin Marine Transport Corp. and Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha Ltd., have released details for two new services that will run between the U.S. East Coast and the Mediterranean and Asia and the Mediterranean.

   Three new services — U.S. East Coast/Mediterranean “TAS 3,” Asia/Mediterranean “AMX” and Asia/U.S. East Coast “AEX” — will replace a previous U.S. East Coast/Mediterranean/Asia joint service of COSCO and Yangming.

   Details of the “AEX” all-water Asia/U.S. East Coast service were announced in the Shippers’ NewsWire issue dated March 31.

   The weekly “AMX” Asia/Indian Subcontinent/Mediterranean service will commence from Xingang on April 16. It will utilize eight 3,500-TEU ships.

The port rotation is Xingang, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Yantian, Singapore, Port Kelang, Colombo, Port Said, Haifa, Naples, Genoa, Marseilles-Fos, Barcelona, Valencia, Port Said, Singapore, Hong Kong, Xingang and Shanghai.

   The weekly “TAS 3” service will kick off from Genoa on May 8. Four 2,000-TEU ships will be operated for this service, with a rotation of New York, Norfolk, Charleston, Genoa, Naples, Barcelona, New York, Norfolk and Charleston.
