COSTA ADDS TWO SHIPS, BRAZIL COVERAGE TO MEXICO/CARIBBEAN/SOUTH

Genoa-based Costa Container Lines has extended the coverage of its 12-day “Inter Caribbean Service” to include ports in Brazil.
The service, renamed “Inter American Service,” now calls at the Brazilian ports of Fortaleza, Sao Francisco do Sul, Santos and Rio de Janeiro.
The vessel “Cala Porlamar” made the first sailing from Sao Francisco do Sul on Jan. 18. Two 923-TEU vessels have been added to the service to maintain its 12-day sailing frequency.
The “Inter American Service” now uses four ships of around 900 TEUs and calls at Veracruz and Altamira, Mexico; Havana, Cuba; Santo Tomas de Castilla, Guatemala; Puerto Limon, Costa Rica; Cristobal, Panama; Cartagena and Barranquilla, Colombia; Puerto Cabello and La Guaira, Venezuela; and Fortaleza, Sao Francisco do Sul, Santos and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.
