CP SHIPS CENTRALIZES MANAGEMENT OF CANMAR AND CAST
CP Ships, the parent company of Canada Maritime, Cast, Lykes Lines, TMM Lines and other shipping lines, has appointed Terry Burrows senior vice president with overall responsibility for the Montreal gateway container lines Canada Maritime and Cast.
Burrows will report to Ray Miles, chief executive officer of CP Ships. Most recently, Burrows was executive vice president of Americana Ships, the CP Ships-owned subsidiary that includes Lykes and TMM Lines.
The appointment of Burrows follows the resignation of Gordon Braun, the former chief executive officer of Canada Maritime. CP Ships said that it will not appoint a new CEO for Canada Maritime.
CanMar’s executive committee and Peter Seminck, CEO of Cast, will report to Burrows.
In a related development, Mike Jordan, executive chairman of CanMar and Cast, will give up his executive position. He will now take a “senior role for CP Ships,” the Canadian-owned group said.
