CP Ships, Hapag-Lloyd will offer new Australasian service
CP Ships and Hapag-Lloyd said they plan to offer a new Australasian joint service in February.
The weekly service, supported by 12 ships ranging in size from 2,000 TEUs to 2,500 TEUs, will link Australia, New Zealand, South East Asia, and — via the Suez Canal — the Mediterranean region and North Europe.
CP Ships and Hapag-Lloyd are discussing possible participation in their Australasian service 'by other interested parties ' and are also in the process of finalizing plans for a new service linking Australasia with the United States and Europe via the Panama Canal,' CP Ships said in a statement.
Hapag-Lloyd, a German transportation and logistics company, is in the process of acquiring CP Ships.
