CRANES ARRIVE AT PORT OF LONG BEACH
The Port of Long Beach on Tuesday took delivery of two 350-foot ship-to-shore cranes, each costing about $7 million apiece, came to the port aboard the ship, Zhenhua 6, from China.
The cranes are the first of 12 that the port has ordered for a new $576-million, 375-acre Pier T Terminal under construction on Terminal Island. The first two cranes are scheduled to be unloaded by April 17. The port said the second shipment, with four cranes, are to arrive in early May.
The Pier T Terminal, which will be the port's largest, will be leased to Hanjin Shipping Co. of South Korea.
