Crist sworn is as Florida governor
Striking a populist tone stressing his intention to be 'The People's Governor,' Republican Charlie Crist was sworn in as governor Tuesday, replacing term-limited Jeb Bush.
Crist, who is expected to continue many of Bush's policies aimed at increasing international trade, said he hoped to take a bipartisan approach to the challenges facing Florida.
'Our challenge is to recognize our common future, our common destiny, and to understand that we are stronger in cooperation than in competition,' he said. 'The work we need to do, we can only do together.'
