Crowley names Jackson VP procurement

   Crowley Maritime Corp. has promoted Matt Jackson to vice president of recruitment.

   Jackson was selected to replace Mike Lucero, who is retiring at the end of this year. Jackson will be responsible for all materials management and purchasing for the corporation. He will also oversee facilities develop and travel.

   Jackson has been with Crowley since 2002, joining the company as enterprise program manager for the information technology department. Since then, he was promoted to director, corporate planning, assisting with the development of the corporation's strategic business plans and objectives.

   He remains based in Jacksonville, and reports to Susan Rodgers, senior vice president, administration.

   The promotion is part of a series of organizational changes within the company. Managers reporting to Jackson include Cal Sweep, director of facilities development; John Azzo, who is transferring to accept the position of director of materials management East Coast; Alun Jones, director of materials management West Coast; and Vern Johnson, administrator of contracts.

   The company said equipment purchasing and leasing will continue to be controlled by the purchasing department. However, intermodal pricing, detention and demurrage, and equipment administration will move under Bob Rousseau, newly appointed vice president of intermodal (
