CROWLEY OBTAINS LICENSE TO START U.S./CUBA SAILINGS
Jacksonville-based Crowley Liner Services has received from the Treasury Department the right to carry “licensed” cargo such as food and medicinal supplies from the U.S. to Cuba.
Crowley said that the move follows the easing of the U.S. government embargo. The carrier hopes that it will start sailings to Cuba next month.
The carrier would not give details of the service, other than that all sailings will be “contingent upon shippers obtaining the necessary license,” a spokesman said.
Crowley Liner Services specializes in the U.S./Caribbean and Central America trade.
