CSXT CREWS WORK TO CLEAR BALTIMORE DERAILMENT

Rail crews from CSX Transportation on Friday morning, removed a derailed tank car containing hydrochloric acid from a 62-car freight train that had been burning in a tunnel under downtown Baltimore since last Thursday.

As of Friday, workers had extracted six cars from the smoke-filled tunnel, according to Kathy Burns, a spokesman for CSXT in Jacksonville.

Burns said a 350-foot gap separated the 46th and 45th cars, suggesting that two sections of the train uncoupled after the partial derailment.
