CUSTOMS, CENSUS TO HOST AES MEETINGS IN LOS ANGELES
U.S. Customs and the Census Bureau will host a series of Automated Export System meetings in Los Angeles Sept. 13-14.
Customs and Census developed AES several years ago as a way for export industry to file its export commodity and transportation data. Customs uses the data to keep track of shipments leaving the country, while Census uses it to compile U.S. trade statistics.
AES public meetings are aimed at companies that aren’t yet using AES, while user meetings are for companies already on the system. The public meeting in Los Angeles will be held Sept. 13 and the user meeting will be on Sept. 14.
