CUSTOMS SEEKS COAC APPLICANTS
The U.S. Customs Service said the deadline for application for those interested in serving on the Treasury Advisory Committee on Commercial Operations is June 17.
COAC was established to allow industry representatives to advise the Secretary of the Treasury on issues relating to the commercial operations of the Customs. COAC received its first charter in 1988.
“There is no prescribed format for the application,” Customs said. “Applicants may send a letter describing their interest and qualifications and enclose a resume.”
However, applicants are required to provide a statement of interest and reasons for applying, complete professional bio or resume, political affiliation, and agree to submit pre-appointment background and tax checks.
The applications should be sent to: Gordana S. Earp, Office of Regulatory, Tariff and Trade Enforcement, Office of the Under Secretary (Enforcement), Room 4004, Department of the Treasury, 1500 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Washington, D.C. 20220, ATTN: COAC 2002
