CWB names Sliworsky for Tokyo job
The Canadian Wheat Board has selected Derek Sliworsky to take over as general manager of its Tokyo office, replacing David Iwaasa, who retires at the end of June after nine years in the position.
Sliworsky markets wheat into the Asia Pacific region from CWB’s Winnipeg headquarters.
“Our focus will certainly remain on Japan,” said Sliworsky. “It’s a critical, quality-conscious market for wheat, durum and barley. The Tokyo office will also become a key point of contact with other buyers in the region such as Malaysia and Thailand.”
The CWB’s Tokyo office handle annual grain sales of about C$400 million ($510 million) to Japan.
