DaimlerChrysler picks Exel as lead logistics provider
DaimlerChrysler, the German auto manufacturer, has named Exel, a U.K.-based provider of logistics services, as an international lead logistics provider.
In that role, Exel will manage DaimlerChrysler's supply chain from non-North American Free Trade Association countries into the automaker's plants in North America, as well as its aftermarket parts locations.
'With Exel as our single point of contact, we can more effectively control the flow of materials from our international supply base as well as associated supply chain costs,' said William Cook, senior manager, international customs and supply, for DaimlerChrysler.
