DAVIS TO TAKE OVER AS AMPORTS CEO
Jim Davis has been appointed chief executive officer of AMPORTS, American auto-processing subsidiary of Associated British Ports Holdings PLC.
Davis replaces Doug Tipton, who steps down by 'mutual decision' with ABP.
Davis has been with AMPORTS since joining the company as senior vice president for sales and marketing in 1999. He was promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer in 2000. He will take over as CEO Jan 1.
Tipton was named CEO in 1999.
AMPORTS operates terminals in Baltimore; Brunswick, Ga.; Jacksonville, Fla.; and Benicia, Calif. Its customers include Volvo, Hyundai, GM, Mitsubishi, Volkswagen, Porsche and Land Rover.
