DCS Logistic to handle California distribution for food maker Pinnacle
Des Plaines, Ill.-based DSC Logistics has won a contract to handle transportation management services for all of packaged-food giant Pinnacle Foods Group's distribution facilities in California.
Financial details of the contract were not released.
The deal comes on the heels of an April contract naming DCS as the provider of all of Pinnacle's warehousing and distribution management service for the food maker's California Logistics Centers.
Pinnacle, producer of products such as Duncan Hines baking mixes, Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup, the Hungry Man line of frozen dinners and Vlasic pickles, operates two such centers in California, one in Mira Loma and the other in Tracy.
Under terms of the contracts, DSC receives products from Pinnacle's six primary manufacturing locations in the Mid-West and East Coast at the California Logistics Centers, provides warehouse management services, and manages shipping of the products to major retailers located in 11 states on the U.S. and Canadian west coasts.
