Delmas, WAL cooperate in Europe/West Africa trade
Delmas and West-Afrika Linien will start a co-operative agreement for two joint services in the Europe/West Africa trade from November.
West-Afrika Linien will join Delmas’ weekly “Hebdo I” service that uses five vessels of about.1,590 TEUs. Delmas will join West-Afrika Linien’s existing service that will be renamed “Hebdo II” and will initially deploy four ships of about 1,000 TEUs with a sailing frequency of every nine days.
West-Afrika Linien has been looking for a partner in the trade since P&O Nedlloyd announced it was leaving their joint Europe/West Africa service by the end of November.
The joint service agreement will commence on the “Hebdo I” service with the departure of the “WAL Ubangi” from Felixstowe on Nov. 14. The service will have a full port rotation of Montoir, Felixstowe, Antwerp, Le Havre, Montoir, Dakar, Abidjan, Lome, Cotonou, Tema, Abidjan, Dakar and back to Montoir.
The “Hebdo II” service will start with the departure of the vessel “MOL Horizon” when it departs from Hamburg on Nov. 9. The service will call at Hamburg, Antwerp, Felixstowe, Le Havre, Dakar, Conakry, Lagos (Apapa and Tin Can Island), Abidjan and Hamburg. The ports of Takoradi and San Pedro will be served via inducement on this service.
