Delta Air Lines to add another U.S. mainland/Hawaii daily flight
Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines said Tuesday it will start an additional U.S. mainland/Hawaii daily service, effective Dec. 1.
The new service will start in Atlanta before connecting in Salt Lake City, and then flying out to Kona island. The Atlanta/Salt Lake City/Kona service will use Boeing 767-400 aircraft.
With the new service, Delta will offer 20 daily round-trip departures between the U.S. mainland and three Hawaiian destinations: Honolulu, Kona and Maui.
On Monday, North American Airlines said it was withdrawing its five weekly Oakland/Hawaii services due to a “very competitive market that has not proven to be profitable for North American Airlines.”
