DESCARTES LAUNCHES AUTOMATED MANIFEST SOFTWARE
Descartes Systems Group Inc., a provider of logistics management technology, said Wednesday it has released its Automated Manifest Service software, which has been developed and tasted with the U.S. Customs Service.
The company said the software provides accurate and timely transmission of maritime cargo manifests in CAMIR or ANSI X12 formats. A translation service and Webform entry mechanism is also available.
The new product offering was developed in response to U.S. Customs’ new Container Security Initiative (CSI), which requires maritime cargo manifests for all U.S.-bound goods, or those in transit through U.S. ports, to be filed electronically 24 hours before a vessel leaves its port of origin.
