DHL, DANZAS LAUNCH JOINT ARGENTINA SALES EFFORT
Danzas Group and DHL Worldwide Express said Tuesday they will join their sales forces in the Argentine region of Mendoza, located on the Chilean border.
The agreement pairs DHL's strengths in air express and air freight with Danzas' expertise in freight forwarding, customs brokerage and value-added distribution. The companies said each already had a significant presence in Argentina prior to the alliance.
The venture was conceived by Marcelo Guckenheimer, director and general manager, Danzas Argentina S.A., and Norberto Lovaglio, president and general manager, DHL Internacional S.A. The two men said the companies are exploring similar agreements in other regions of Argentina, such as Cordoba, Rosario an Santa Fe.
The Mendoza region, about 1,100 kilometers west of Buenos Aires, is a key region for minerals, manufacturing, heavy industries and wine production.
Rolando Santoni, DHL Mendoza's regional manager, and Juan Marquez, responsible for Danzas Argentina's sales for the region, have been appointed coordinators of the activities between DHL and Danzas. Marquez will work out of DHL's offices in Mendoza.
