DHL FINALIZES PURCHASE OF CANADIAN COURIER

   DHL Worldwide Express said it has completed the acquisition of Canadian courier service Mayne Logistics Loomis.

   The purchase expands DHL's Canadian domestic market share and improves service between the United States and Canada, DHL said.

   Mayne Logistics Loomis has a fleet of more than 1,500 vehicles, many owned and operated by independent truck drivers, to move more than 82,000 parcels per day, according to the Canadian company's Web site. It generates almost $300 million per year in revenue, according to the site. It has 43 depots, 27 mini depots and four primary hubs in Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal and Toronto.
